Your Truth Reflected

Journaling is the mirror that listens

Botanic Aromatics Understanding myself better

Reflective Writing Prompts

These prompts are here to help you begin. Your concern will shape the questions you ask. For instance, if you’re wrestling with a career decision, you might start with: What parts of my current job bring me joy? What drains my energy? Each honest response will guide you closer to your answer.

Create a space just for writing—it can be as simple as lighting a candle and pouring a cup of tea. Take a few deep breaths, and set the intention to be open to discovery.

When you write, let the words come without judgment. Don’t search for meaning as you go; simply allow the flow. The insights will reveal themselves when you read and reflect afterward.

What are my core values?

Explore the principles that guide your decisions and actions.

What am I grateful for today?

Identify the positive aspects of your life and express gratitude for them.

How do I define success?

Reflect on what success means to you personally and professionally.

What fears are holding me back?

Examine the fears that limit your potential and consider ways to overcome them.

Describe my ideal future self in five years—how do I feel, look, and act?

Describe your future self, use your imagination and don’t hold back, it’s your future, be what you want.

What are three things I learned about myself this year?

Also, ponder how what you learned will shape your future.

Write about one thing I’ve been avoiding and what it would feel like to face it.

You can also draw the fear, which may help you understand your reaction to it better.

Who inspires me and why?

Think about the people who motivate you and the qualities you admire in them.

What are my biggest dreams?

Visualize your aspirations and consider the steps needed to achieve them.

How do I handle stress?

Analyze your stress management techniques and their effectiveness.

What brings me joy?

Identify activities and experiences that bring happiness into your life.

What limiting beliefs might be holding me back, and how can I reframe them?

What does forgiveness mean to me and am I practicing it?

Also, explore under what conditions you do practice forgiveness and when you don’t.
